#9 Spaghetti tricolore with the easiest tomato sauce ever

Inspired by some authentic Italian spaghetti I had in my kitchen I decided to go for a simple and quick (yet really tasty!) dish of red-sauce pasta. Since the spaghetti are already flavored with tomato and spinach, I opted for a plain sauce which boosts all these flavors and does not create a confusing result.




WHAT YOU NEED: (Dinner for two…)

250g of tricolore spaghetti

Virgin olive oil

½ of a dry onion

500g of fresh tomatoes cut in small pieces

1 tablespoonful of sugar



1 pinch of dry basil (or some fresh leaves, it’s even better!)


Pour approximately 1 liter of water into a saucepan, add a pinch of salt and let it boil. Once boiled, put your saucepan in medium temperature and add the spaghetti. Stir every 3-4 minutes until done. For an al-dente effect cook for 9 minutes. Then take another saucepan, pour some olive oil and add the onion. Let it fry until becoming soft and transparent and add the fresh tomatoes. Add the sugar, the salt and the pepper and let it boil in medium temperature for about 20 minutes. Then add the basil, leave it there for another 5 minutes and there you go!
