#6 Pizza with homemade sauce & dough

Ok, I know! I was supposed to dedicate the whole of the week to the basics of decoration but…those who know me well will understand that I just couldn’t help myself posting another recipe! This one is amazing and I cooked it just the other day! The whole of this pizza is homemade and is great whether you would like to invite your friends for the evening or have kids that would love to help you with the preparation. It’s super easy and tasty!

WHAT YOU NEED:

For the dough:

250g of flour (make sure you have more flour in stock)

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 teaspoon of apple vinegar

1 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoonful of butter (in room temperature)

1 pinch of sugar

1 teacup of lukewarm milk

For the tomato sauce:

500g of fresh tomatoes cut in small pieces

Virgin olive oil

1 garlic clove

1 pinch of oregano

1 pinch of thyme

1 ½ tablespoon of sugar

Salt

Pepper

For the topping: (just improvise!)

1 big fresh mushroom

7 slices of smoked turkey meat

200g of grated cheese

HOW TO:

Take a saucepan, pour some olive oil and fry the garlic for a while. Then add the tomatoes and the rest of your ingredients (oregano, thyme, sugar, salt and pepper). Let it boil in medium temperature for at least 45 minutes (until it’s not watery at all and the only thing you can see is tomato paste and oil).

Now, take a big bowl and pour all your dry ingredients first, that is to say flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add the butter while stirring and then add the vinegar and the milk. Work on your dough really well (add more flour if needed) and continue until you end up with an elastic dough that does stick on your fingers. Take a plastic foil and cover the bowl really well so that no air comes in. Leave it there for approximately 30 minutes.

When your sauce and dough are ready, take a baking pan and spread its bottom and sides with some olive oil. Take the dough and cover the bottom. Take a fork and press its teeth a little bit on various spots of the dough so that you prevent your dough from billowing while baked. Spread the tomato paste, cover it up with the smoked turkey slices, then add the grated cheese and, last but not least, put the fresh mushrooms. Bake your pizza for 20-25 minutes (depending on your oven) in 180 degrees and enjoy your ENTIRELY homemade pizza!

Good luck & have an amazing weekend! 😉
